The constitution

What is a business constitution?

A shared set of rules for how your business works, with every rule confirmed by a person on your team. People use it to settle questions. AI tools use it to follow your rules instead of guessing them.

Where do the rules come from?

From your own documents. Corpora reads the files you point it at, finds the passages that state a rule, and brings each candidate back for your team to confirm or reject. Nothing enters the constitution without a person saying yes.

What does a rule look like?

A plain statement, the exact quote it came from, the document and location of that quote, and the name of the person who confirmed it. For example: Media plans over $50,000 need written finance approval before launch, quoted from Approval policy, page 4, confirmed by a reviewer on your team.

Why does every rule carry a quote?

So you can check it. A rule you cannot trace back to its source is just an opinion. If the wording is not in your document, Corpora does not make it a rule.

Reading your documents

What does Corpora connect to?

Google Drive today. You pick the folders; Corpora reads what is inside them. More sources are planned.

Can Corpora see my whole Drive?

No. You choose folders through Google's own picker, and Corpora can only read what you picked. It cannot browse the rest of your Drive.

Can Corpora edit or delete my files?

No. Corpora reads. It never writes to, moves, or deletes anything in your Drive.

Does Corpora store copies of my documents?

No. Your documents stay in Google Drive. Corpora reads them during a scan and keeps only what the product needs: the extracted rules, the quoted passages, references to where each quote lives, and digital fingerprints used to detect changes.

What happens when a document changes?

Corpora keeps a digital fingerprint of each document, a short code computed from its content, like a checksum. The next scan notices the fingerprint changed and rereads that document, without ever keeping the file itself. New candidate rules come back to Review; your confirmed rules stay until you change them.

How long does a scan take and what does it cost?

Most scans finish in minutes and you can watch them live. Every scan runs under a spending cap shown before you start, so a huge folder cannot surprise you. During early access, scans are free.

Which file types does Corpora read?

The formats teams actually work in: Google Docs, Google Sheets, and PDFs, with more formats on the way.

Review

Who decides what becomes a rule?

Your team. Every extracted rule waits in Review next to its quote and source until someone confirms or rejects it. The reviewer's name is recorded on the rule.

What happens to rules I reject?

They leave the queue and stay out of your constitution. They are kept on the reviewed list so you can see what was decided and reopen anything later.

Can I change my mind?

Yes. Every decision can be undone right after you make it, and any reviewed rule can be reopened later.

What if two documents disagree?

Both candidates show up in Review with their quotes side by side. Your team confirms the one that is right, rejects the other, and ideally fixes the stale document. Corpora will not silently pick a winner.

Serving your AI tools

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI tools ask outside systems for information. Corpora speaks MCP, so tools that support it can ask your constitution questions directly.

Which tools can use my constitution?

Any tool that speaks MCP, including Claude, ChatGPT, and coding tools like Cursor and Copilot. If your tool supports MCP servers, it can connect to Corpora.

What does a tool get when it asks?

Only confirmed rules, each with its statement, the exact quote, the source reference, and who confirmed it. The same receipts a person sees.

What happens when no confirmed rule covers a question?

The tool is told exactly that: no confirmed rule covers this. Corpora refuses to guess, because a confident wrong answer is worse than an honest gap. Unanswered questions stay visible in your constitution so your team can close them.

Can I export the constitution?

Yes. Download it as a readable markdown file or as structured JSON, any time, from the constitution page.

How do I connect a tool?

Turn on serving in settings. Corpora gives you an endpoint URL and an access token, shown once. Paste them into your tool's MCP configuration and it is connected. You can rotate or revoke the token whenever you want.

Accounts and billing

What does Corpora cost?

Nothing during early access. When pricing arrives, you will see it before anything is charged, and you will be able to export everything regardless.

How do I sign in?

With your Google account. You will connect Google Drive anyway, so one identity covers both and Corpora never stores a password.

Who can see my workspace?

Only people you invite by email. Reviewers act under their own names, so every confirmation is attributable.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the workspace in settings. That removes the rules, quotes, references, fingerprints, members, and serving tokens. Your documents were never stored, so there is nothing else to delete.
